So maybe her concentration had been a little bit one-track. Normally she would have heard Yosuke coming from a couple rows down and stopped in plenty of time to sit down and pretend she was just aimlessly doodling in a notebook or something. She saw him just a bit too late to stop her throw, though, and winced as it whizzed through the air past him. There wasn't any chance of it actually hitting him - she'd set herself up in a relatively clear space, and the nearest blind spot was still several feet away from the path of her knives. He would have to have been at a dead run to get in its path before she saw him.

Still, this could definitely have gone down better, given the noise he'd just made and the general look on his face. Normal people probably didn't throw knives on their break, but between school and her two jobs she needed to grab whatever time she could for practice.

She stalked over to retrieve her knives to buy a little bit of time to consider what to say. "You want to try?" she called over her shoulder after a moment. "Everyone needs a hobby."
