"For me..." he echoes oddly, as the words are somehow foreign to him, but the bet has been set. And he lets his world open up again as she squeezes his hands and leans in to close the gap between them. He fumbles, and he's unsure, and it seems that there are times that he has no idea what he's doing, and his confidence wavers, but he becomes more steady the closer they get to the apartment.

And that's exactly what he does, and he's sure she does the same, which is enjoy the little bit of time they have left on the empty trolly before he inevitably brings her home.
