Someone should be. And with nearly all of the fictional officers out of the office for one reason or another, and the acting chief out on patrol... It isn't as though it's particularly difficult or taxing. And people need to know, instead of just guessing.

Oh, no, I can still walk. And the notion of some place cool to go is a relief.

It's... It's character building. Or something. Anyway, at least they know that it means something to the person delivering the news. Far better than having a dispassionate observer read off a list as though they weren't people with friends and families being left behind to worry and try to figure out what happened and cry over them when--

[She cuts herself off abruptly and waves a hand, looking away for a moment. When she looks back, she's composed herself again and smiles, teasing lightly.]
