heartofbakerst: (concern)

John had had a particularly frustrating day at work, getting used to, once again, letting things settle back to normal. Unfortunately, that meant that the surgery was flooded with ill-gotten injuries and poorly-dressed wounds from the previous week, leaving John feeling drained and worn from the day's activities. That's why, when the knock comes at the door, he is a little less than pleased, and looks expectantly to Sherlock to answer it. But Sherlock never answers the door. He has people for that. Those people mostly being John.

A moment passes before he sighs, sets down his paper, and gets to his feet. "No, no. Don't worry yourself, I'll get it," he says as he drags his feet to the door. He wonders who could be knocking, the flat not usually so welcome to visitors. He is pleasantly surprised, however, to see the young boy outside the door when he opens it. "He..llo." He looks puzzled. "Can I.. help you with something?"
