There was a part of him that only made itself known when Dave was actually sick, not just faking to get out of schoolwork or training, or when he wasn't quite sick enough to not be able to handle it. When Dave was really sick, and when he needed it, Bro could actually act like a decent human being. Bullying and taunts wouldn't work here.
