Aisling and the Doctor - Change - It seemed the taste was not so sweet...
As evening approached, the creatures seemed to thin, and they had retreated to the forest to rest and watch as the sun set over the mountains. They hadn't spoken much, as tired as they were. Her hand throbbed strangely where an overzealous bat had sunk in its teeth as she'd tried to free it from the wires it had been caught in, and the dog bites hadn't healed as they should either. Doctor had taken worse, over all, though nothing seemed to be bad enough to cause too much concern.
There was something soothing about the way the sun drew in its trailing golden cloak over the waves and turned the sky orange and letting deep dusk follow behind. Finally the edge of it dipped below the sea, and the light of its passing faded behind it, the moon peeping out from behind the mountains. With a sigh, she stretched and made to get up. A sharp, lancing pain shot up her arm, startling a cry from her lips and making her hunch over the offending limb. Something was very wrong. She couldn't quite catch her breath, and her blood burned, scalding her from the inside out. The trees about her rustled and cried out in their shared pain, and she tried to close herself off from them as much as possible. The pain intensified, radiating out to engulf her.

Then again, when weren't things weird?
It was night time, and for some reason, this moon wasn't as comforting as it usually was for Jack. It felt harsh. Like a beaming, artificial light. He kept his back to the sky, floating around with no destination in mind. He had just finished checking on the bunnies, and securing them in his room. Call it a feeling. With all these dogs, he just didn't want to take any chances. He found himself weaving around the sharp maze of the forest's branches, enjoying the game with a light laugh and a strong chill of air that rattled the branches. He flipped up, and dove back down, bounding off the trunks and using the branches like a set of monkey bars, the forest filled with elated laughter, all previous thoughts forgotten. Eventually, he landed gently on the ground, shielded away from the moon, grinning stupidly and already deciding what to do next.

Lin and Koizumi - A Change by Turns
With the sun setting, striping the concrete in the orange light and black shadow of a tigerdillo pelt, the packs had thinned, the bats winging their way off into the darkening sky. One more round before she went home. She'd promised Koizumi when they'd met earlier that she'd call him. Check in on him as much as him checking in on her.
It was as they talked, offering small exchanges that attempted to remain open and mostly honest even as they reassured one another that they were fine, that the dizziness hit. Lin had to pause, regain her balance, bite back a hiss. She was passing through a park, and a handy bench afforded her a place to sit as she tried to catch her breath. Everything spun and wove around her, fading into fuzzy incoherence before suddenly sharpening so that she had to shut her eyes lest they be sliced open on the razor's edge of a far building. Her stomach churned. Something was wrong. Very calmly and quietly, she gave the boy her location and requested water, tacking on, "If you're in the area, I would appreciate it if you'd stop by." She hardly heard his affirmative before the line went dead.
Leaning forward, she rested her armored elbows on her thighs and hung her head. At least the nausea gave her something to focus on other than how humiliating this was.
He'd be there. She just had to retain consciousness until he arrived.

Aisling and Koizumi - Fear is nature's warning
Her head snapped up and in an instant she was at the mouth of the den. Someone was here. In her forest. And they'd hurt one of her creatures. She took off, reveling in the added agility and speed her new-found abilities granted her, nothing more than a slight blur and a rustle of sound in the dark.

Lin, Koizumi, and Sarah - You don't want to escape
Absently, she smoothed his hair back from his forehead with an unusual tenderness, the cut on her wrist from which she had fed him already sealing. She could, of course, feed him herself. But that would leave her weaker than she'd like.
Her head came around as footsteps sounded in the hall outside the apartment. ...Sarah. A wholly different smile, knife-edged and cruel, thinned her lips. Perfect.

Lin and Koizumi - Without an honest heart as compass
She could sense others held here. Wolves, like a restless, migrating itch she could never quite scratch - base-born curs, worth nothing and more frustrating than fleas, they destroyed everything they touched and turned the kine into more of them, leaving little to none left for the vampires to feed on.
Hunger was a constant presence, nearly palpable in its intensity by this point, pulling her skin taut against her bones and exhausting her if she paced too long. So instead she stood motionless, conserving her energy, thinking of other options to try. Ever since she realized she would be unable to escape this place under her own considerable power, she had been reaching out to her eldest child. Her most trustworthy and competent scion. And the most dangerous. If he had any ambitions to take her down and step into her shoes, this would be the most effective method for him to do so while keeping his hands spotlessly clean.
She had considered the notion and deemed it a risk worth taking. Itsuki was intelligent. Ruthless. And though he occasionally chaffed under her control, he didn't fight her nearly as hard or as often as he could have. He might be ambitious. Not that ambitious. He would come. And she would be waiting.

Lin and Koizumi - Icons of self-indulgence
She had killed... so many people, over the last week. But chief among them, Sarah and Koizumi. And had attempted to kill Coulson. Would have killed Carol. Among others. But those were the ones she needed to address first.
Koizumi convulsing on her bed, that strange mixture of pain and euphoria in his face; the eagerness with which he had brought down another and followed her orders. The taste of his blood, the velvet heat of it flowing over her tongue. Revulsion churned in her stomach and she tasted bile. He knelt before her, bowing his head, the very shadows reacting to his presence. He had been hers, and even now there was a hard, hot, jealous possessiveness that curled under her breastbone just thinking about it.
And then there had been that night. After he had broken her out.
She quickly took a drink of water, trying to counteract the surge of self-hatred that accompanied a smug satisfaction and low pulse of pleasure. No. It was wrong and despicable, and he couldn't be left thinking that she would act on that again.
Setting the empty glass beside the sink, she swung her coat over her shoulders and headed for the door. She'd see Koizumi first. Then she'd see.

Sheska and Koizumi - It's over now... (the music of the night)
Sunlight crawled across the living room floor in thin stripes through the blinds, occasionally getting in her eyes, but it was easier to close her eyes than to master her lethargy enough to get up and close the blinds more thoroughly. Rook had given up on pulling or whining her off the couch, and heaved himself up onto the couch to curl up behind her knees.
Sleep and it's comforting oblivion had taunted her since midnight, when she had felt the strength and agility drain away, her vision dim and blur, the voracious bloodlust transmute into shock and revulsion. She very vaguely recalled stumbling into an alley to be violently ill, thin crimson liquid splashing the contents of a half-empty trash can. She couldn't really recall how she'd gotten home... but as long as she hadn't hurt anyone else along the way, it didn't matter.
She was worn out. Worn down. Exhausted and terrified, with shocky denial covering a deep well of guilt and despair. Where could she turn? Who could she talk to? ...What would she even say? Her thoughts had run in circles and spirals for hours, and she couldn't think anymore. So she lay still and let the sunlight creep across her face and hoped that when she finally fell asleep there would be no nightmares.

Eleven and Sarah || who let the cats and dogs out?
There was one other form she could take, an animal. Her default happened to be a cat. A black cat with brown eyes. She began to roam the streets of the city as a cat.
No one would suspect a cat could be a vampire, right? At least she'd avoid Koizumi and Lin this way. She wanted to delay their inevitable meeting as much as possible.

Joining forces
She started to let out a low growl, preparing to yell or chase the other away, or worse--prepare for a fight. But nothing happened. There was someone else wandering, someone trying to hide and whose scent was familiar. Was there another wolf out there? Instincts guided her then, forcing her to be light on her feet as she tried to track down the form she briefly saw.

Koizumi knew better. Lin never admitted she was unwell or she needed help, even obliquely. For her to send that message - something was very wrong. He'd taken off immediately, as he was on the wrong side of town.
He sprinted around a corner... and suddenly stopped cold. A big brown wolf with streaks of white in its hair was standing in the middle of the street, no more than ten feet in front of him. It had been half facing away from him, and he tried not to draw its attention, make any sudden movements, even as his heart pounded in his ears. It was probably far too late - he hadn't seen it in time, he was much too close. On top of that, he hadn't been quiet in his approach - and even as he was desperately trying to regulate his breath, he'd been running too fast for too long, and it was still loud and uneven.
He was trying to quietly take a step back when the wolf reacted.

They also weren't, apparently, exempt from smelling like a delicious snack.
Dave had avoided most of the freaky animal business going down for most of the day, and now that it was evening, it looked like whatever it was had died down. Not bad for weird island shenanigans. He hadn't liked the look of those dogs. Or the sound.
But they were gone, and the night was young, and Dave Strider was young and loaded and invincible and mumbling a new rap to himself and very much not paying attention to his surroundings.

HOLMES, sherlock
o;; losing his mind to bloodlust and being fended off
o;; grumpily and non-fatally snacking on willing participants
being sired.
Well, wasn't that a pity? Even more the pity was her insatiable hunger.
"Mr. Holmes, I'm not accustomed to waiting," she called, after the door wasn't opened immediately. Ordinarily she would have availed herself of a convenient window, but Irene had found that impossible given her new condition. She ran a tongue over the fangs replacing her canines, hissing under her breath. Every moment wasted.. Was a moment John could be on his way home to interrupt them.
And for the love of god, she swore she could smell them both from across the city. One sweet, ridiculously so, to the point of temptation and utter pull ... the other smelling a bit more like wet fur.

??? - ??? (Profit.) Uh, other feedings, hanging out with Bro, sleeping over at Sheska's, doing his immortal source of sanguinary sustenance thing. Have at him. He's totally open.
Gym class + hanging out
There was really no stopping Bro Strider once he decided he wanted to do something, and right now what he wanted to do was get to his unconscious brother's side and no one was going to keep him from doing that. Even if it meant he had to push someone - or several someones - out of the way to achieve it.
He crouched down next to Dave, touching the back of one hand to his forehead and generally fussing, which was really only to be expected.
