He glanced around the room, concerned but unsurprised. He made his way easily through the mess, pulling the covers back and laying her carefully on the bed. He looked down at her for a long moment from his seat on the edge of the bed, expression fond and worried and a little sad. Then he bent down and smoothed her hair back, gently kissing her forehead.
He quietly took her hand. "You're tired. Rest, Sheska. I'm right here."
