Koizumi had continued to fade, gracefully and unresistant, when she stopped drinking. He'd lost too much blood - he wouldn't last long. His eyes fluttered, but it was unclear whether he had any awareness of his surroundings, or if it was an autonomic response.
His lips parted, ever so slightly, at her kiss. A moment later, his muscles tightened as blood filled his mouth. After that, he grew unnaturally still, and his breath faded - it looked as if he had succumbed to the blood loss.
Then his body convulsed. There was another pause before he took in a fresh breath as a new being, shaky and uneven. He was wracked with a mixture of pain and rapture as he slowly opened his eyes, blood raging red through his veins.
She's alive.
The thought echoed through his head, though he could hardly make sense of it, his mind still cloudy. Whatever it was, though, it was important.
His eyes slowly focused on Lin, and a powerful flare of emotion even he cannot recognize leaves him all but stunned. "Lin..." He breathed the word out, quiet, almost reverent.
