Word has already gotten out that the NMPD found a body this morning.  For that matter, at least a half-dozen pedestrians saw it too before the forensics team collected it.  Our most recent missing person, Tucker Ellison, who I may or may not have made some insensitive remarks about the other day, has been reported dead due to a drug-related incident, whatever the Hell that means. 

Since I have already spent the morning fielding panicked phone calls -- on an off-shift on my day off -- let me make this crystal clear:  we have no reason to believe Mr. Ellison's disappearance and subsequent death is in any way connected to any other disappearance on the island.  Best guess is, he overdosed on something a few days ago and wandered off to somewhere quiet, and nobody found him until it was too late. 

If you have any evidence suggesting otherwise, or witnessed anything that would  plausibly suggest we've got it wrong, come by the station and let us know.  We don't bite.  I promise.

Otherwise, please stop calling so the department will send me home and let me get some more sleep.
