Little cubes and tea cups crunch under his feet as Equius lands in the snow-sugar ground. He'd jumped from his own dream world, naturally. It was a particularly strong jump. He is proud of it. You are to commend him.
Honestly, he expected worse — his own nightmares are horrific enough to keep him from sleeping for days on end, but Nepeta's dream looks harmless enough. Still, he doesn't let his guard down, for a terrible beast could lurk around the corner. Equius has no doubt his moirail could vanquish it herself, but perhaps he feels even more obsessively protected in his second chance at life.
"You are safe," he says when he catches sight of Nepeta. Equius' voice tends to come out as a deep bellow even when he means to speak normally. Then, casting his eyes around the realm and landing on the plush scalemates — "What are those."
dsf sob I only JUST noticed what he has on his head.
Bringing down another terrible beast with her claws, Nepeta pawsed paused as she heard the strong footsteps behind her, turning to catch sight of her moirail. A bright grin crossed the green-blooded trolls face.
"Equius!" Her voice was a light and pleasant one, sweet like the sugar cubes that covered her world. In the next instant she was pouncing the larger troll gleefully, at a run.
Perhaps it's crazy dream logic, but they slide for an abnormally long time through the snow. Equius finally sits up and stops them, picking Nepeta up by the back of her coat to separate them. "Hello, Nepeta." He speaks kinder when he is around her, and allows himself a small smile. The concessions one makes for their moirail.
There's a ridiculous green plush dragon not a foot away from them, and it's staring at him wrong. He resits the urge to punch it apart, just barely, and instead asks Nepeta, "Why are they here? I dislike them."
Nepeta flops back into the sugar cube snow and smiles at her moirail. As far as trolls went, she was a pretty cheerful one.
"Terezi is here, too!" She responded, as though it were the most obvious thing even a schlub would not have missed. She had lost track of the other troll at some point during the drawings and the court trials. There were beasts to hunt and role-plays to be had. It was Nepeta's dream space, after all, and anything was possible in it.
The highblood's nose wrinkles at the news. "Yuck," he says immediately. Terezi is simply a bit too teal for his tastes. However, there could be lower trolls to share a dream space with... he supposes.
"I guess she is not the worst class you could fraternize with," Equius grumbles. He picks up the scalemate, examines it, then throws it over his shoulder — a particularly strong toss, as it's soon completely out of sight.
However, as long as they're dreaming and no one is around to see, he may as well have some fun.
He's cautious of his own strength when it comes to handling Nepeta, so he simply crouches down and points to his back. "Jump on."
Steph wanders into the dream by accident, trying to flee one of her own, perhaps. She shields her eyes against the combined glare of--are those little sugar cubes?--and teaware, until she gets used to the lighting.
"It would probably be a little on the nose to make that one Wizard of Oz reference, right?"
She wonders this aloud, not exactly expecting a response.
Crouched on a pile of sugar cubes, claws out and her 'fake' tail swishing impossibly behind her, the green-blooded troll watched the intruder of her dream, ready to pounce. But this was not a beast, just another one of those silly looking humans. When she speaks, her voice is cheerful, practically a purr at times.
"What is a wizard of oz? Is it a great and terrible beast from your world?"
"Nepeta." The smaller troll slides down the little sugar cube hill to inspect this new intruder more closely. She mentioned drawing and it is enough to catch her attention.
"Painting in purrticular." Okay so the catpuns were a little silly when she said them out loud, but she just couldn't resist.

"They are Terezi's scalemates"

"Oh, hey, you're..."
Steph pauses for a few seconds, trying to recall a name. It doesn't come.
"...I totally don't remember, I'm so sorry. You like drawing, though, right?"

Steph takes notice of Nepeta's claws, and her swishing tail. Huh.
Also, cat puns apparently. She'd say 'kids these days' but then she'd feel kinda old.
"Painting's cool! I used to take art classes, only I wasn't that great at it so..."
