Sorry I've been so quiet recently. There's been a lot of stuff going on and it's been keeping me really busy! I think I've hit a plateau though, so maybe I can breathe a little.

Who's got plans for Halloween? Anything fun going on that I've missed, somehow?

I think it will. I'm trying to gather as much information about these incidents as I can so that we can find a way to stop them from happening.

Tell me everything you remember from when you were first kidnapped. Where were you, what did you see.. those kinds of things.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how I got kidnapped, but I do remember hearing the Doctor. Our Doctor. And I thought that was pretty weird since he'd left, so I...I suppose I went to see what it was?

And then I woke up in Amy's old room, in her house back at Ledworth. I mean, I assume it wasn't actually her house, but it really did look like it. The other me, or whatever he was...you know all those ugly things you usually try to squash down and keep inside? He was just. Throwing them out at me. I mean, you heard what he said.

And when I tried to fight him, it was like he knew what I wanted to do before I did. Mind you, not that I'm very good at fighting. But he was stronger, too.

Seems to be a common occurrence. Though this is the first I've heard of hearing a familiar voice. Strange.

But you don't remember being attacked or drugged or anything at all?

No, not at all. It's just this sort of...blank.

Like you just... collapsed? Or fell asleep?

I'm really not sure. One minute I was trying to see in the direction of the voice and then...I wasn't on the street on my way back from the shop anymore.

I'm not really a notes kinda girl, but if you need help with anything else...?

How are you with computers and setting up networks?

In the interest of full disclosure? I'm not bad at it, but Tim's more of a computer guy. I can sure give it a shot, though!

I know it's not terribly exciting, but I'm working on trying to archive some of the television broadcasts that follow the kidnappings and some of the interactions with others. Would you be interested in helping me with that? I'll buy the coffee.

Not exactly. I plan to have plans, though! And between you, Donna, and Jenny, I'm sure there will be something mandatory for me to do.

You know us well enough, Doctor. I think that's almost certainly something you can count on.

At midnight, for approximately one hour, time stops. Stops dead. Things still occur, some people still move about, but time itself is at a standstill. The universe does not age.

I'm not exactly an expert in the rest of it, but that's.... believe me, that's significant. The physical access to the television world only appears then, in that sort of... conceptual space. It's a place where metaphorical and psychological realities can be exactly as valid as the rest of the physical universe.

Time stops? It actually stops? And you're sure about that? Can it do that?

Complicated question, actually. Technically, of course, no. The universe would stop expanding, everything would get really bright and really hot or completely cold and shut down, depending. But during this hour, the universe isn't operating by normal rules. Time stopping at midnight, people encased in coffins, negative emotions taking on physical form... they're all symbols. They're a sign that this is some sort of conceptual space. But don't mistake that for meaning it's not real. Someone who becomes conceptually dead is much more dead than someone who dies the ordinary way, I imagine.

A self-contained universe that occurs only at midnight. It's got its own rules and its own laws and ways of working with things. As if one universe wasn't difficult enough to understand, now we've got short hours in which to explore this new one.

Do dead people ever crop up during these events?

Not that I've seen. Though of course there are plenty of people on the island who seem to have been dead before they got here.

I've got notes. What do you need to know?

Any information that you have that I can archive. Even if you just give me your notes that I can copy... I'm trying to start an archive of these things.

For instance, what happens when the people get taken?

Unconsciousness, to start with. I was outside, right at midnight, and I remember thinking that something about a nearby building, right at the mouth of an alleyway, looked wrong to me. I couldn't figure out what.

Then I woke up to a lecture from my duplicate. When I tried to fight him, or to escape, he knew my every move. He was faster than me, stronger than me... tougher. I never landed a hit, or stood a chance.

Sort of like fighting Cass, actually.

As for the rest, there's still a recording on the network of what he... of what that part of me said and did.

I'll have to look into finding that recording. So those videos are stored on the network, then? I'll have to make a note to archive those in the coming weeks to see if there's something I can work out of them.

When you were knocked unconscious, were you attacked? Drugged? Did you see the person who did it?

No to all three.
