Chief Beifong, of Republic City. Where is this place?

This is the island of New Moore. We've all been stuck here the same way.

[Ah, an authority figure. Comparable to her own position at the least. Good. She lets her tone drop several notches, a dignified neutral tone suitable for equals.]

Chief Shepard. I'm not familiar with that island. Are we near the main continent? I need to get back to my jurisdiction.

The explanation's a long one, but it boils down to one fact: everyone here is stuck here, indefinitely. There's an invisible barrier around the island and no-one's found a way to bring it down.

[Oh good. Someone she recognizes, even if he's not exactly the one she was hoping for. She softens the sharp bite in her tone a little.]

Their chief of police says this is an island: New Moore. You've been in school more recently - does that sound familiar to you?

(Well there's a voice he knows well! He was beginning to worry he was the only one who was here.)

[A small breath of relief.]

Tenzin. I'm fine. Out of sorts, but fine. Do you know where we are?

No, I don't. But it would seem we're not in Republic City anymore. (Pause as he takes a look around.) Have you seen Korra anywhere?

[Audio]

Not yet. Her friend Bolin is here, though. We should regroup.

[Audio]

(Sigh. Well, if Lin and Bolin are here, then maybe there's a chance that Korra is too. The question was just...where?)

Yes, I believe that would be best. We'll be able to gather more information, and it'll be easier to search for any others that may be here as well. Where are you?

You're a chief? Excuse me, but have you seen a really short guy with long blond hair and a red cape? He's my big brother, and I can't seem to find him.

I'm not really sure what city I'm in, to tell you the truth.

[Now that's a sort of armor she hasn't seen before...]

I'm sorry, I haven't. What's his name? If I see him, I'll tell him you were looking for him.

I'm told this island is called New Moore, but I haven't heard of it before, myself.

His name is Edward Elric. He's the fullmetal alchemist, you might've heard of him.

I'm Alphonse, by the way. It's nice to meet you.

New Moore? That's not in Amestris!

I'm Ch-- Lin Beifong. Ms. Beifong will do. No, I'm sorry, I've never heard of your brother. [pause...] Or Amestris, either. Where should I tell him to meet you, Alphonse, should I see him?

You've never heard of the country of Amestris? Just where is this place?

Umm... That's a good question, Miss Beifong. I don't really know where I am, and I don't want to stop searching. Tell him to transmute something really tall, so I'll see it, I suppose.

Lin hugged the side of a dormer window overlooking the park, scanning anxiously for Tenzin's bright orange and yellow, or anything that resembled Bolin. Maybe a flash of that fire-ferret that followed him around all the time. She hadn't seen any recognizable benders yet, no effects of bending, and no law enforcement. At least no uniformed officers.

Luckily, at this point in the afternoon, the shadows from the dormer were significant enough to offer her some cover, in her dark outfit. Hopefully few eyes were able to make her out.

[it takes Bolin a while to get to the little park, but not nearly as long as he thought it was going to take. And it's not hard to find Lin there.]

Hey! [he waves a hand and walks over] That wasn't so hard.

(It takes Tenzin a little longer than he would have liked to find the park, but once he does, he takes the time to slow down, look around, and try to clear his mind a bit. This whole situation was extremely strange and troublesome, but there was no use getting worked up just yet. Perhaps Lin or Bolin would have a bit more to tell him.

He hears a somewhat familiar voice near him, turns to see a somewhat familiar young man, and walks hurriedly over.)

Bolin. (Stopping a few feet away from him) Are you all right? How long have you been here?

[steelweb]

[Lin rolls her eyes and rappels quickly down the side of the building. A twitch of her hand disengages the grappling hook and retracts it. Her stalk hasn't changed, other than being a trifle stiff.]

Bolin. Tenzin. I've only been here a few hours - you? What do you know about this place?

[bolininthedeep]

Well, it looks like a normal enough city from what I've seen. []he shrugs] I've only been here an hour or two, so it's hard to say.
