[By now everyone's familiar with the crying sounds going on in the background, and even Aisling is sounding a bit frazzled and impatient.]

I can't get anything done - and there is much to do before Samhain. I'm no mother, but even so--

It's the night that those who have gone before can come back to the living. We hold a feast in their honor, and if they come, they'll be welcome. There is food, and drink, and fun, and it lasts till daybreak. You've never celebrated Samhain?

Well I probably would have, but we don't have it where I'm from! Trolls don't like to think about their dead, since the ones that live are probably responsible for a fair share of the dead. And it wouldn't occur to me to do something like that, because I've always been able to talk to ghosts. I didn't think I needed a holiday for it.

Even if you're responsible for the deaths, they should be remembered and honored.

I am most definitely a troll! And I've never tried to talk to any other ghosts, since I never came into contact with them. I don't see why it wouldn't work for other ghosts too. Why do you ask?

I don't know if any spirits from home will be able to reach us here. But if they do, there are... some very special people who might arrive. I want to talk to them, or at least know if they come. I can trade you services, if you would try.

You don't have to trade me anything to do something like that. If they're here, and I can hear them, I will anyway. It's not anything to relate what they say to you and vice versa. What should I be looking for?

[Sheeeee does not know how to deal with this not wanting to bargain thing. She's sort of expecting that from humans now (kinda) but a troll would have understood, she'd have thought. But more importantly, how does she explain her family? How does she explain how tightly they were knit, how interconnected they were as a clan, as a people, as the land?]

....It's hard to explain. I haven't tried, before.

[She could explain it, but it would be unlikely that Aradia would properly understand. Clan is a human concept; there'd be nothing that could approximate such closeness in troll terms.]

Names are special - we don't share them. But I have a piece of clothing from one of them. Would that help?

It might. I've never tried that before but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't allow me to try and figure out who to call.
