Hideous. Absolutely hideous. How can anyone live like this? I see the other children playing on the streets outside... carefree. Oh how I long to join them. But how? How can I? I do not appear as the other children do... I am a monster. What shall I do with myself?

I want to join the other children. I want to be normal. But I cannot. I appear to be attached to some sort of life-support system. Efforts to remove the device have only ended in weakness, and should I be without it for long, I fear even death.

When one looks this way, and cannot even survive on his own, what must one do to adapt?
