yet moments like these, as their lips meet and part playfully, as there's short breaths and quiet laughter when he misses, and she guides him back, the world is wonderful. and he realizes, as much as there were moments that he understood, that this kept him grounded. there were things in the world that were wonderful, and his Evil-Self, in his resignation to believe that he was the victim of the world's woes, missed details like this. and he wouldn't let them bring him back.
and when it seems that they're finished and he draws back finally, there's a look of amusement on his face. there's a bit of laughter in his throat as he leans forward again, but doesn't kiss her again, instead he asks, playfully, overwhelmed in giddiness that anyone would want to kiss him at all.]
