Most of you have probably heard by now that I've been mustered out from the NMPD. Before the smartasses decide to get in their remarks, just remember that if I wasn't afraid to fight City Hall I'm not going to think twice about knocking you on your ass, either.

Anyway. For a long time now I've been collecting overtime-heavy public-servant pay and been keeping too busy to spend it. Now I'm going to do the opposite -- cash in and relax as many hours of the day as I can. Maybe go into business for myself.

I'm open to suggestions, as long as you've got something more creative than "buy me a drink."

Got a few ideas on the business end of things. Just sent a picture to both your phones of a boat down at the pier -- a 48-foot motor yacht. Used, but still in decent shape. Now that I've got all the time I want, I was thinking I'd like to spend it on the move -- explore the island, catch some sun, maybe run tours or explorations for people to make a little extra.

If I did it, I'd need a helmsman and an engineer with me. I've got a couple people in mind.

Thinking about calling her the Neptune.

I'm buying a boat. Once I've got that fixed up, I figured I'd start doing exploration and salvage around the island. Maybe some paid tours for people who are interested.

For the exploration part... we've already seen the ruins on the island aren't the safest. I could use another gun backing me up.

Well. Let's rent something with enough tonnage to tow the Neptune into drydock, and then we can show everyone how good you are at what you do.

I've been waiting for something like this. Ain't a spaceship, but fixing appliances and heaters just ain't the same.

Once she's up and running, I'm going to move a few things out there and just spend some nights floating, listening to the sound of the generators to get to sleep.

There's nothing else like having a ship. Not even close.

Gosh, that sounds nice. Sometimes the turn of Serenity was the only thing could lull me to sleep.

Not at all. Wish Serenity was here... but I don't think that's ever gonna happen.

You know you're always welcome to sleep over. The main cabin has a pretty big bed.

I think a rocking boat would do me a powerful lot of good.

Then as soon as we're sure nothing's leaking, let's cast off and find a good anchorage.

You never know, if I get bored enough and find the right parts, we might well make her skyworthy. Ain't making any promises, though.

Since I've already spent two years being dead, I'd say I'm overdue.

Hard to argue with that. But if you start wearing Hawaiian shirts and socks with sandals, I'm out.

I bought the boat so I can sail around the island looking for trouble. Sandals aren't happening. Do I have a helmsman, or do I have to offer the job to the shirtless blond with the trident?

That sounds more like you. Besides, as long as we're stuck here, I could use something to do.

Until I find a way to make this a more stable business model, I might have to pay you in beer. But I'll be working on that problem.

As far as money goes... last year when we all turned into pirates, there was supposed to be treasure. Nobody ever found it. And I've done more to map the island than anyone else I know.
