From the island. Everything the government tells us says that people are released to the "real world" on the government's discretion. People just vanish, with most of their belongings. No sign of a struggle, no alerting the roommates or the pets. Every month the government provides me with a list of who has left this month. I let people know.

It's one of the duties of the Chief of Police, apparently. My predecessor performed the duty. Now it's mine.

Hard to say. We're looking into it, but it happens seemingly at random. No one tends to be on scene. The details of the case aren't something I'm willing to discuss over open channels.
