So we're all here, and whether we remember each other or not we're all heros. How do you guys feel about forming a New Moore branch of the Avengers? The police department is very understaffed so I've been trying to pick up some of the slack for them but it would be a lot easier if we were a formal organization.

So, what do you guys think?

Great. I was thinking of taking some of the money I've been putting back and getting a base of operations. Got any ideas where we might go?

I'll take a hike around the city, scout out a few decent buildings where we can set up shop. Something strategic, easily defensible.

Great. There are some warehouses by the docks. Nat's going to check them out and I'm going to see if any of them are up for grabs. If those don't work out we need a back up

I know, but he trusts you and I trust you. We need all the help we can get with this. Things are pretty quiet now, but you never know when something might happen.

...I do not know that I share your concern. It seems more than ably defended to me, between the Young Avengers and those Avengers you have here, and its challenges small at best. You do not need me. And I am a warrior of Asgardia, not Midgard.

Things can get bad around here, and if that happens it'd be nice to have everyone on board. A little while back everyone in the town suddenly got superpowers. All the other Avengers had just left. It was a nightmare.

You don't have to join if you don't want to, but being in a team is nice sometimes, especially when all of us are so far from home.

In truth, if I had wanted to be an Avenger, I would be one by now.

[Thor would have been ecstatic, in fact.]

Like Nat said, you don't have to. I just wanted to extend the offer.

And I recognize the spirit in which it was offered, worry not. But my duty, first and foremost, lies elsewhere, and always will.

You wouldn't necessarily need carry the title of Avenger; just knowing we'd have you as backup if we need it would be enough. All things considered, I'd rather someone more familiar with the more esoteric arts, even if you don't practice them, on our speed dial.

It is a different thing entirely, to ask for my help or my advice, than ask me to be an Avenger.

Then think of it that way. I won't try to force you into doing anything you don't want to do, and if you don't wish to be one, that's fine. I like you as an ally, and I don't want to do anything to damage that.

Do you truly think I would refuse to come to your aid, Natalia Romanova, if you truly had need of me?

If I ever gave you reason to do so? Yes.

I cannot say you are wrong.

But I had not thought you foolish enough to do such a thing.

I don't like to think I am, either.

It couldn't hurt. A legitimate reason to be at the police station would only benefit my attempts to hack into their systems.

They really don't seem to have anyone tech-savvy, so it shouldn't be a hard hack. [It's somthing that could prove useful in the future. She trusts Lin, but Lin might not always be here.]

Have you found anywhere that might be a good base of operations?

Mysterious shadow governments are never an easy hack.

I haven't, I'll keep an eye out.

Yeah, but some are easier than others.

Good. The sooner we find something the better.

Anything in particular you were looking for?

Something big that we can set everything up in. Maybe an abandoned warehouse. I've been looking around, but I keep getting side tracked by attempted bank robberies.

It's good to know the hooligans around here think big.

There's quite a few warehouses near the docks. It doesn't look like anything goes on there, though, which is suspicious enough. I'll see what I can dig up.

I can check with some city offices to see if any of them are up for grabs.
