He's a good kid. Not a traditional zombie— if you can call zombies traditional. Not rotting, plenty of brain function; thinks plenty, just can't communicate it.

I thought he was healing himself somehow, but apparently he's just getting better at talking.

Well, getting better at communicating is never a bad thing, even if it isn't quite what we might have hoped for.

Any ideas as to what made him a zombie in the first place?

No clue, and I can't check. Not that I think it'd help, but there'd be no harm in trying.

No. [he sounds rougher than he meant to and makes an effort to soften his voice when he continues] Not my place any more. Plus, if there are any paradoxes to have, that would be a sure way to trigger them.
