Right, so. Let me see if I understand everything here.

My life, my entire being was nothing more than someone's cooked up, crack pipe idea. That who I am and everything else about me wasn't real, but now I'm real. Like the damned puppet from that story. Could never really stand it, even as a kid.

Heh, great. Really that's just fucking great. I don't have to worry about anything more, right? That's supposed to be the beauty in having this 'clean slate' here, ain't it?

People get "released" every so often, but we can't confirm where to. The official implication is that they're sent out to the "real" world, and unofficially the assumptions seems to be that they go back home. I'm personally inclined to believe the latter, since otherwise we'd have seen more attempts from released people to contact their friends still in the island.

How do you know they weren't thrown off a ship or something? It would be easy to hide a dead body out here.

Because there are immortals on board. Superheroes and gods and everything in-between; we've been brought here, but none of the abilities we had originally have been altered. There's only so much whoever's in charge of the place has control over.
