[ well, this is kind of a weird sight.

there is one natasha. and then there is another natasha, who looks a bit older, with longer hair and worry lines on her face. the other, older natasha is tied up with what looks like all of the rope on the island, and wrapped up in a blanket and a few sheets, for good measure. younger natasha, the natasha that new moore knows is staring at the camera, panting slightly, with a cut over one cheekbone and a new black eye forming. but she looks triumphant at the very least. ]

It's not every day I get to fight someone on my level.

[ her voice is wry. ]

Anyone care to explain what I'm supposed to do with her now?

She found me. Ambushed me while I was walking home; I suppose it's my own fault for going soft while I was here. It's been a fight, the last two days.

I don't suppose you'd want to come over and help me keep an eye on her. I can't remember the last time I've slept or showered.

[Carol grimaces]

[ the eye goes up at the mask. but he's got that right; two highly trained assassins, it is so not good. ]

Not yet. As you can imagine, there wasn't a lot of speaking.

[ at least, not any that was appropriate for sharing with a fourteen-year-old. ]

That depends. My fighting style involves a lot of speaking. But if you say it didn't, then I can understand that.

Did she just attack you, or did you - react to finding her?

As you can probably imagine, she's a bit hard to move.

[ the other!natasha wriggles and glares resentfully. ]

[ there was lots of Russian cursing. and some low blows that she's not going to repeat. ]

She was waiting for me. She must have been watching me for a few hours.

If you've got a halfway secure place to put her, I could help keep her sedated. But I have to admit, it's nice to have someone in custody who could tell us what the Hell is going on.

You? Go soft? I don't know nothing of the sort.

I'll head over right now. You want me to bring anything? Aside from my boyish charm and weapons to distract her.

[ other!natasha shouts something in Russian with the natasha currently speaking to the screen speaking in kind; they have a brief conversation that doesn't sound friendly (they're certainly not talking about the weather). ]

[ she glances warily behind her, rolling her eyes at him. ]

Rope. Anything you've got to tie her up. I tried to search her for any weapons, but you know how that goes; we've sparred before. Luckily, I already know her hiding spots.

I'm going to try and talk to her, in the mean time. To me...

[ her reply is a bit too harsh and, for once, she actually has the grace to look somewhat sheepish, glancing behind her. ]

We .. I can't. It would be .. wrong. I think I can speak to her, if I can get her to calm down. If I can get her to listen, she might help us.

[Luckily for Carol she still remembers her Russian.]

Will you two knock it off for 5 minutes?

[ the conversation ceases for a moment as both women look at the camera with identical annoyed looks, then persists -- it sounds as if the older natasha is arguing against the younger natasha and her 'brainwashing'. no wonder she's so angry; it would be a touchy subject for both of them. after a sharp word that sounds suspiciously like a curse, the real!natasha turns back to the video. ]

I can keep her this way for a while; Barton is on his way if you have something else it do.

You're probably the best judge of you. If you find out anything relevant to the island as a whole, let us know.

[ she shoots a wary look behind her and nods. ]

[A loud explosion from the warehouse district cuts her off. She curses violently in a few alien languages.]

Alright, you take care of her. I have a bad feeling about that explosion.

[ both natasha's stop arguing for a moment and turn towards the sound, sobering. whatever squabbles they had, they didn't like the sounds of it either. ]

Roger that. Keep me updated on that; it didn't sound like anything fun. I'm here to play now that they made things personal.

I'll be over there in a bit with the necessary supplies.

Don't try to kill yourself in the meantime.

[ there is some quick conferring in Russian, then she nods. ]
