[Guess who hasn't gotten off her cool kitchen floor? Guess who's also only in a bikini top and a pair of cut-off shorts because fuck the heat? And guess who is never in hot weather in general, much less weather this stifling?
You've probably guessed correctly.]
If anyone wants to come over for mint juleps, now would be the time before I give into peer pressure and pass out from the heat... like the rest of you lot not used to this bullshit weather.
Sirius, bring gin when you come.
[Assuming he's coming over anyway? You bet.]

Okay, cool. [And moves to the freezer, crouching to make space to push the tub of ice cream inside before she joins Alisha, crouching beside her then giving up entirely and sitting on the floor.
It might be like.. half a degree cooler down here. Maybe.]

So. Mint julep, yeah?
[Alisha pries her skin off the floor and pushes herself upright.]
Want me just to make you one or take you step by step?

[Though she's only been sitting a moment, she uses the nearest counter to pull herself back to her feet.
God, this heat is ridiculous.]

So... I really didn't want to make my own syrup -too fucking hot for that- so I bought some mint extract sweetener shit. Just so you know.
[Alisha doesn't much talk through the rest of the process.
She pulls out two beer glasses from the freezer and fills them with ice. Bringing them over to the counter, she pours the syprup in, followed by lime juice, a bit of water, and finally the gin. Using a straw to push them too the bottom, she adds in several mint leaves to each glass and stirs. When all is said and done, she hands the blonde a glass.]
Cheers.

[Anything that would help with how damned hot it was would be a bonus. She watches intently, making mental notes as Alisha creates the drink. It looks easy enough and honestly, she can't wait to try it.
After years of drinking moonshine and shitty beer, this was going to be great.]
Cheers.
[She lifts the glass up, then sips through the straw. There's a long pause in which she stares at the glass.]
... Ohhh my god. This is amazing.

If you like, I can get you some of the syrup. I'll just have the boss order an extra whenever we need a new shipment for the Saisons' bar.
no subject
You sure? What will I owe you?
no subject
Might come in handy if this heatwave keeps going on, yeah?
no subject
[Sip.]
I could get used to this. Can you show me anything else?

[She fetches vodka from the freezer, and lime juice and soda water from the fridge. It isn't long until she pours another glass and mixes them together.]
This is my go-to.
no subject
[She grins slightly.]
No such thing as good booze where I'm from. You're lucky if you can get any at all.
no subject
[Let her pour a little more vodka into Julie's glass.]
Where you from?
no subject
[She sips again and nods. It's a little sharper now. Not bad.]
It was just me and my mom and dad for a long time. Dad was trying to find us somewhere safe to live. [Julie shakes her head a little.] We nearly gave up when we hit the Canadian border and saw that it was just the same there.
