Private text to Sheska, and Shinichi.
I'm not exactly sure of your taste, but is there anything you might be wanting for Christmas this year? I think I might be able to find you some books that you haven't got yet, but I'm not sure exactly what your interest might be. Care to give me some ideas?
Private text to Irene
Been doing some Christmas shopping. Not sure if you've got anything in mind for what you want, but some ideas would be appreciated. For you and Sherlock. Your tastes are closer to his than mine are... Would you mind helping me find something? I'd like to get him something practical but.. perhaps a little more sentimental than that. You know how he is.
Private text to Sherlock Holmes
Finding anything in your size is next to impossible. Do you know that?

I like any kind of mystery, generally. I also like non-fiction, and sometimes science fiction. But not often.

[ Except that he does actually really like sci-fi things. ]

[ underneath her usual wry tone was a note of genuine surprise. ]
I suppose I hadn't thought of it, for either of us. I don't usually celebrate.

.. I was telling the truth when I said I like detective stories. Books, for me. You can't find a book that Sherlock hasn't read, at least not here. I would recommend experiment tools - beakers, chemicals, a bit more than your basic lab kit, however. That, or a violin, if he does not have it already.
[ but of course, John would already know what she said next: ]
It helps him think.

Thank you for the ideas, Ms. Adler. I think I've got something in mind.

[ but she's glad to be of help. actually, she's more glad that he asked. ]

I like to read. [ but of course you know that. ] I've been rather bored since I arrived here. I also like puzzles - word games, sudoku, that sort of thing.

[ a beat. ]
I .. also enjoy cooking. Or I have been enjoying it, recently.
private, audio.
Cooking? Realy? Hm. Any particular sort of cooking you've been looking into? I bet you'd be good at it.

[ and if you tell anyone, she'll hurt you. ]

You bake? Any chances of seeing some of your work at Christmas?
private, audio.
[ it honestly hadn't occurred to her anyone might want to try it. ]
What sort of thing do you like?
