[Aisling is looking vaguely mutinous today, arms crossed and frowning at the camera.]
Just so people will stop asking, the mistletoe isn't here anymore. It wasn't natural, you know. Things can grow that fast, but only with help, and mistletoe doesn't make you kiss. Not usually. None of my plants do that, so you can stop hunting for some that will. Take your shears and knives and go home. And if you want pine trees, you can't just cut them down wherever you want to. I'll help you find a good place and put it in a pot to take home with you if you bring something to trade, but I won't let you cut them down just because. There's a place that sells butchered trees near the big building that sells everything. If you want dead trees, go there.

If you wanted one, you could always ask. I might even make it a gift.

Should I help you protect your forest? I'm sure we could try a ward of some kind.

[But suddenly you have all her attention. All of it. Which might be mildly disconcerting, since she picks up the device to hold it at a much closer range.]
Would it be something that would let people come in, but still protect the trees?
video
I'm not sure, but I think we could work something out together, Aisling. I've felt more than a touch of your magic by now. I believe we can work together.
video
What do you want in return?
video
I meant to discuss something with you, anyway.
video
You know you can always come see me if you need to talk. Especially if it's a secret.
video
It's not really a secret per-se. I was just thinking about teaching you defensive and offensive magic, if you're interested.

Speaking of things that might not make sense to people, while we're on the topic of dead trees and weird holidays, do you happen to have a lot of wood lying around I could use to build a thing that would then be set on fire?
video;
I might... You should tell me why you want to set something on fire, though. And where.
video;
Back home we make a sort of big wooden tree in the middle of town out of all our wrecked ships from the year and then decorate it using old shields. It stays there for the entire celebration and then we light it on fire at the end. ...But I'd probably just make a little one and put it on the beach out of the way because I'm the only one celebrating Snoggletog over here and also because everyone's putting really flammable looking fake plants and little blinky hazardous lights on literally everything.

[There's a complex tangle of emotion under the frustration.]
That's why I'm reminding. And some people are new since last year. They don't know yet.

[ somehow she's getting the idea that this person does't want them to cut down trees. somehow, somewhere. ]

If you wouldn't mind, my lady, I'd appreciate being granted one of your trees for the festive period. I'll be sure to bring it back in the new year.
