You know, usually when I wake up in a strange bed, I'm off-duty and have some time to figure it out.

He doesn't. His thoughts are mine, mine are his, and we generally move as one big, dysfunctional unit. You could try nodding, though. Humor him if he gets too rowdy, he'll settle down.
