It's been an interesting year.

The world is a very strange place, and I'm not just talking about this one. I come from a city filled with maniacs and criminals, where the news claims that aliens and gods have fought civil wars. My roommate comes from a place where countries are people. Looking on the network, I've seen aliens, time travelers, humans from worlds so different from ours that they're unrecognizable... walking around town, I've even seen a dinosaur and a giant teddy bear.

Looks like you guys come from some pretty strange places too. And I think nothing could be stranger than all the different places that we come from... except buying the idea that they aren't real. A place like this, filling with people from all other worlds, full of some strange force that keeps manipulating events... it's got to mean something.

What we do here matters. What we learn here matters. I want to understand what makes this place tick, what's really happening, how and why we all came here. I think it all matters, and what we do next is going to matter too.

My New Year's resolution is to spend next Christmas at home in Gotham City with my brothers.

Well. You've got to remember that I was adopted, and so was most of my family.

My oldest brother has been a circus performer, cop, and museum curator.

My next older brother was adopted by my dad after my dad caught him trying to steal the hubcaps off his most expensive car.

My sister is a martial artist. Scary good. All of us have done some self-defense training, none of us are bad at it, and she could beat up any two of us blindfolded with one hand tied behind her back.

Literally.

My younger brother thinks that, compared to him, the rest of us have zero talent at anything, and should all recognize his superior achievements. He's an ambitious kid, and he tries hard, I guess, but... yeah.

oh you guys know that thing too!!! No those guys just make me look bad!! Liet and i got married once so his stupid brothers were like mine i guess. It was mostly awful but now they are practically tied together with a ~*~baltic chain~*~ and then dont even LET me join even tho IM ON THE BALTIC TOO GUYS!! Belarus is a fascist bitch and Ukraine is like um we kissed after the orange revolution and i thought we were gonna be together but they're sisters with Russia. and Hungary is like my bff and f and f but shes always copying me!!! Russias not family and Germany's like some kinda step sibling after Prussia

Well, if we both chipped in about a third of our stipend, we could hire a maid.

I, however, am not being paid to suffer, so in the meantime I've got this crazy notion that we should share the work equally.
