(no subject)

After all that, sorta wish I'd packed champagne and Christmas crackers.

Hang on! Here somewhere! Check in the pocket of the coat on the hatrack!

Or maybe in the rabbithole in the tophat on the coat rack...

Is there more than one coat on the hatrack?

Nicked it from Napoleon. Had to give the hats back to stop him going to war.

Sounds brilliant! Pity we didn't think of it last time.

About the TARDIS, though, I've had an idea...

It was something that the Master was doing, when we were trying to redefine the TARDIS travel parameters in case it was the safeties that were keeping us locked down. He said we could define the limit boundaries as if the force-field didn't exist.

What if we did the opposite?

Exactly. Treat the force-field like the borders of reality itself. That confines us to only the present moment -- the Earth is hurtling through space so fast that where it was a moment ago or will be a moment later is on the other side of spacetime relative to the field. We couldn't even stay dematerialized for the same reason. But! Point to point transport on the island, quick as a wink, or at any rate fast as the materialization cycle will allow for. Five or six winks, maybe.

D'you think it would work?

Hang on a moment then -- have to pull that conduit and re-route to here... disable the auxiliary safeties on the dematerialization circuit... put the new co-ordinate set somewhere else, so I don't have to erase the old one... might as well use the chameleon circuit's memory buffer... reprogram the distortion grid compensator, useless but of fluff on a type 40 anyway... sorry dear... right! There we have it!

Should we give her a whirl?

Where should we go?

This is probably the worst case of blue-balls I have ever had.

It's almost disappointing.
