[The video opens on a middle-aged man, who is obviously QUITE CRANKY. His tone carries an underlying edge of sarcasm for the first few sentences.]

"So, Dr. McKay, you weren't actually real except now you are and welcome to New Moore." Stop me if you've heard that one before, because I am sure I and my colleagues must all have had a similar story fed to us at some point in the past four years. That we imagined a big part of our lives. That it was all in our heads. So you'll forgive me if I'm not quite ready to believe this whole thing and expect to wake back up in the infirmary at any moment to be told it was some sort of weird dream caused by- by, oh, I don't know, an alien fungus or something like that. Hey, it's not completely unheard of!

[There's a pause as he takes the time to read over some of the recent network entries.]

...Wait, MANDATORY DANCE? This is not my best day...

Wonderful. Of course, if this IS a dream and there's some sort of time-dilation in effect, for all I know there could only be 5 minutes passing where I come from.

Mandatory. As in, there's a dance, and all of us are obligated to go. With a partner.

Tell me about it. Oh, we just got here? TOUGH LUCK, we're being required to attend some- some STUPID social function or not get any stipend for a month! WHAT A WARM WELCOME THIS IS!

Yes, I've just been notified of that, as well. I'd like to consider myself to be a very- easy person to live with. As long as we have plenty of food. And warmth. Warmth is a good thing. Maybe eventually a way to wake up and get OUT of this place.

[ Is amused. ] Aha, then we should get along very easily amico mio. Although I will warn you I have figured out that I am not from... whatever time this supposedly is. So forgive me if I am a bit slow, this is all quite new to me.

I am not sure, but it is the year 1507 where I came from. What about you?

... 1507? ... seriously?

[Color Rodney surprised, and he doesn't even try and hide it.]

It was... 2008, last I checked...

[ So is Ezio. ] Truly? To think I would be able to speak with someone from five hundred years in the future... I suppose this place isn't entirely bad.

Tell me, what has come of Italy? Does it still exist?

This is definitely not the first time I've spoken to someone from many years ago, but still... you seem far less arrogant than some of the people from the past that I've met. [Like Rodney's one to talk about being arrogant. Not that he'd ever admit that.]

Yup, Italy's still there. The world- the entire universe is a lot bigger than you knew during your lifetime.

How amazing. You have spoken to people from the past before? Is this common in the future? So many things to comprehend...

[Rodney pauses; he usually has no problem dumbing things down when asked, but explaining these things to someone from the 1500's who wasn't one of the Ancients...]

Yeah. Yeah, a bunch of times. I've met a few of them in person, even- they were kept preserved for years and years.

No, no, no, see, if this IS a hallucination, then everyone in it would be telling me it's not! So I'm not going to discount the possibility yet.
