Everyone who's disappeared in the last month. Sometimes they come back with amnesia. Sometimes they don't come back at all.

Sure. Now if there were any way to predict who it would happen to, where they go, or even if they're still alive, maybe we'd be happier about it.

You haven't been able to figure out a pattern?

It's likelier to happen to younger women and likelier to happen on the first of the month than any other day. But the eggheads tell me both of those likelihoods are smaller than the margin of error in the statistics.

If it keeps happening, it's not an error.

The odds-on bet is that it's the island government letting people out. Maybe they send them back if they don't do so well off the island. But transparency and accountability aren't exactly the values of choice for whoever's pulling the strings.
