... I sure as Hell didn't see what happened to mine.


When did you see them last? Any signs of a disturbance to report? Anything out of the ordinary at all?

If you want to come down to the station, I'll put you to work filtering anything useful that comes in on our tip lines.

If not... don't do anything that would make me send an officer out to bring you in. I want all my people trying to figure out where the hell the kidnapped people are being held, not countering constructive acts of vigilantism.

Mostly sit at a desk with a phone and write down every crackpot theory someone calls in. If they add up to anything, flag someone down and let them know. If they sound like a credible witness and they actually know something, haul 'em in for a debriefing.

One more man on a desk means one more officer on the streets.

I'm good at taking notes. That'll be fine for now. When we find where they are, though, fair warning, I won't be sitting by. I'm a doctor, and I'd like first look.

I've also found my flatmate's phone. He never goes anywhere without it. Can hardly breathe if its battery is dying. So he's definitely been taken, wherever he is.
