Anything beyond reference is so scarce, so rare... What sort of place is this that it has no books? No novels to enrich the mind?

Not even a bible.

There are textbooks. And some nonfiction.

Faraway worlds, impossible happenings, colourful language...

That is what fills the void... Not silly things like supposed facts and things.
