It's a surreal sort of irony for a cop car to be a crime scene. Anyone passing by might have thought the officer inside had merely closed his eyes for a moment to rest and wait for his partner to return. Slumped in his seat, Officer Jakob Harlem is far from sleeping. He's very much deceased. There are no signs of a struggle, no tampering with the car. The only apparent piece of the crime scene 'out of place', beyond the missing ticket ledger.

Garrus, the officer who called in the death, is still on the scene, but Harlem's partner had been sent home on forced leave to deal with the trauma of his Partner's death.

Officer Beifong took the time to scout the surrounding area on her way in, keeping an eye out from the rooftops for anyone or thing which looked out of place. Nothing from this height, anyway. She mollified herself briefly with the consideration that at least there was no sign of that metal-bender, Erik, either. She dropped down into an alley near the crime scene, and made her way over, walking quickly and with purpose. In the fifteen - she glanced at a clock and revised her estimate - twenty minutes that it had taken her to get here, a perimeter had been set up, and the distraught partner was gone. She ducked under the tape, nodding to Garrus and coming to stand close while she ducked to frown into the car window. "What's the story?"
