While I'm certain you could manage fine on your own, it seems like after someone has been rude to you, it's only fitting that someone else balance the scales.

No matter how true that is, it's impossible to have any kind of control over that sort of person or to make certain they behave in a way that's going to acceptable to anyone. However, in the face of that, it's still possible to live your life in a way that means you'll get some enjoyment out of it, without letting unreasonable behavior sour your metaphorical grapes.

I'm less talkative in person. However, communicating by text, it's very easy to get carried away into a sort of dramatic monologue.

In any case, since there doesn't seem to be any way to say it without an awkward segue... would you be interested in joining a club?

A friend of mine is recruiting. If you check the network, there's an ad I put up earlier. In any case, despite appearances, it's not completely unreasonable, and it's served good purposes before.

Somehow, though, trouble of some sort always seems to find us... or maybe we find it, however accidentally... I thought that, if nothing else, our club will probably end up acting as an early warning system for supernatural dangers whether you're involved with it or not, so it might be a good thing for everyone if we worked together.

What I'm saying is that this group is likely to wind up involved without even trying. In the course of investigating mysteries on our own, it's entirely possible that in true detective fiction style, we may stumble across something bigger, such as a witch. Even if we're not doing it to help you, it's still a situation in which we could benefit each other.

Although, actually, knowing Haruhi, that isn't too much of a stretch...
