young trolls are taught to fear and avoid adults and anyone larger than you can pose a significant risk to your chances of living to be an adult

well i am not trying to be scary
i think its different for other species though
you dont grow up thinking the adults are out to kill you or eat you or steal your things
so in that sense trolls are not supposed to be softies at any age
between you and me though thats not always very true
