The strangest part of the year is almost on us, so I thought I'd post a few helpful warnings.

First, the Fourth of July is tomorrow.  Holidays are an especially big risk on the island, especially Western holidays, and American holidays are the most dangerous of all, which probably shouldn't be taken to mean anything symbolic, but when you have a holiday whose entire celebration is centered around explosions, it's sensible for everyone on New Moore to exercise a little caution.

Second.  Tanabata.  SOS Brigade members, make sure to have your wishes ready, as well as extensive citations and rational explaining why it's worth wishing for, and not something that might be regretted if spoken over a monkey's paw or to a gypsy fortune-telling machine or otherwise misinterpreted by malicious magical forces.  While Orihime and Hokoboshi themselves may be above reproach, mortal eyes reviewing your wishes might not be, and in any case the stars here are unfamiliar and a little extra caution is never uncalled for.

Third, still Tanabata and Brigade members, our plans for celebration haven't been finalized yet but attendance has of course been made mandatory despite that, so make sure your calendars are clear and be ready for anything.  Not that advice such as "be ready for anything" can ever be considered to be anything except vague and useless, because of course the breadth of options available to the universe is too wide to be comprehended by the human mind, let alone prepared for in any practical fashion, but at the very least be aware that in a few days some portion of that transcendant potential is sure to come true in ways you haven't yet anticipated, so be flexible and ready to adapt to unanticipated circumstances.

If you just make sure your calendars are clear for the day, that much will probably be fine.

I believe that makes it true.
