What: Some baking at Shinji's place, not necessarily cakes but possibly.
Who: Shinji, obviously, and the very much invited Kaworu.
When: Tuesday July 23rd
Where: Shinji and Sherlock's kitchen.

[Shinji laid out all the stuff he might possibly use today for baking, including, but not limited to: flour, eggs, milk, sugar, powdered sugar, and several types of berries. Seeing it all together like that made him feel like he had overdone it, but the moment he had invited Kaworu he had wanted to make sure he would enjoy what he made. And then he had realized he really wasn't sure what type of sweets Kaworu preferred and... well, now here they were, with all of this stuff.

Shinji only hoped that maybe Sherlock and John would not mind eating the leftovers, and tried not to think of how much he felt like a girl on Valentine's day]

[Kaworu knocked once at the door; then, after a moment, opened it and stepped inside. That was acceptable for friends under certain circumstances. He was dressed as a compromise between casual, formal, and practical occasions: black slacks and a black tuxedo-print T-shirt under a Paradox Pizza apron. He was also carrying a small giftwrapped box in one hand.]

I hope I am not late.

That is correct.

[Setting it down carefully on the counter.

When Shinji opens it, he'll find a small, squashed bouquet of chrysanthemums and geraniums, a cookbook, and a bar of baking chocolate. ]

Do you like them?

[He rocks forward on his heels, eagerly.]

The chrysanthemums represent love, and the geraniums foolishness, because there is no flower which indicates socially awkward behavior in the language of flowers.

I think so. I am not fluent in flower.

That sounds agreeable to me.

[He pauses for a long moment, waiting in perfect still contentment, and then thinks to add.]

You will have to instruct me. There is an oven in my apartment, but I have never used it.

I use the microwave.

[Measuring the milk. This part is similar to lab chemistry, he'll be good at it.]
