Trying to run and hide [Closed]
Who: Rogue, Koizumi, Remy and Sirius.
What: Trying to find Rogue and getting her to talk.
Where: Rogue's place.
When: Today
Rogue had been trying to keep her life going since her incident with Sirius and the time as a Pirate, but it was difficult. She was dealing with Sirius' memories and emotion, and then there was Remy. The 'life' they shared together as pirates felt just as real as her own memories. The connection they had, everything they had made her heart flutter and ache all at once. She tried to keep things going on with her life, but it wasn't that simple.
Every time she tried to go to bed she was placed back into a cell where those hooded figures were, doubling her guilt, fear and paralyzed her. She tried snapping herself out of it, telling herself it was someone else in her head, but it didn't work. She woke up in a cold sweat and unable to go back to bed. Coffee quickly became her best friend, but it didn't help her sleep any better at night.
She started arriving late to class or not even showing up at all. She hadn't spoken to anyone since the events happened or even bothered to look at her phone. There were probably a handful of messages on there, but she didn't want to read or deal with anything. Which is why she's locked herself in her apartment, only going out if she had to.

And so finally he tracked Rogue down at her apartment, knocking on the door.
"Rogue? It's me, Sirius! I'm worried, let me in. Please." After a few more knocks he added. "I can unlock the door, y'know? Magic."
no subject
Her head snapped up hearing the knock on the door. She didn't want to know who it was, thinking if she stayed quiet they'd go away. But that wouldn't be the case. The person on the other wise was Sirius. What the hell?
Rogue placed her cup of coffee down on the kitchen counter to move to the door and lean against it. He could unlock the door, but she'd make sure it would stay shut.
"Go. Away."
no subject
Speaking of...
"I have a potion that would make you sleep without dreaming."
no subject
How long would she have to stay here until he went away?
no subject
"So you don't have nightmares? If you've seen... If you're dealing with my memories, maybe if you knew more about it you could get some distance. Know your fears and all that."
An apology is on his lips, again, but his apologies have started to feel stale these days. Too guilty. Too sorry.
no subject
She knows her fears, but those aren't playing in her head. It's his. If she knows more...won't that make it worse? It'll complete the picture and give her more insight into a man she doesn't--shouldn't be near.
"I don't want to know about you or them. Just go away." Her voice is softer this time. She's tired, cranky and starting to feel dizzy from lack of sleep.
no subject
"I could help you with that, too," he finally said, just as quiet. "There are memory spells. I'll leave the potion out here. You just have to drink a glass full before sleeping and you won't have any dreams."
He sighed and got up running a hand through his hair. "Chocolate helps, too."
no subject
But the true question was, did she want them gone? Yes, it was hard to deal with and wrap around, but did she truly want them erased from her mind?
She breathed out a sigh, forcing herself to get up and placed her hand on the door. Rogue opened it slightly, letting him see her in a hoodie and pajama bottoms.
"Why can't you get it through your head that I don't want help?"
no subject
Sirius looked at her, glaring at first but finally ending up with a sigh and a shake of his head. "I'm sorry, Rogue. This isn't something you should have to deal with."

Her desire for privacy, and to be alone, was equally obvious. He tried to respect it, staying away and giving her space - but after a week of this, and seeing how often she missed her classes, he began to suspect that something more was at play. Not only that, but... well, her coping strategy might not be the healthiest, whatever it was she was going through. Being alone and working things out can be good for you, but isolating yourself for extended periods of time... that was less so.
He couldn't force her to open up, of course - and he would never try. Whatever she was going through, she had to be the impetus through her healing process. Nobody else could do it for her. What he could do is show her he's there for her, that he'll be there if she needs a friend. And maybe help her with her homework, while he's at it.
And so Koizumi showed up early Saturday afternoon to knock softly at her door, backpack in hand. "Rogue?"
no subject
There was no Professor or Logan to help her out. Then again if they were here, she wouldn't want to get them involved.
She was sipping from her coffee mug when she heard the faint knock and familiar voice. The world stopped for a moment, hearing Koizumi's voice in her head, calling her Marie before she felt a cold chill run down her spine. It's not real.. She repeated the chant over and over in her mind, forcing the fragments and jumbled pieces of memories in the corners of her mind.
Taking in a deep breath, she went over to the door to slowly open it. If she quickly told him to go away, maybe he'd listen.
"Yeah?" She said, opening the door to reveal she had a long sleeved t-shirt on with pajama bottoms on.

He tried not to show too much of his concern when she opened the door, knowing she probably wouldn't take it well - though he was concerned, and her state of dress only reinforced how much she was shutting herself away. He attempted a small smile, and held up the backpack with an understated gesture. "I brought your homework. If you want, I can go over what you missed." He spoke quietly and casually, with not a hint that anything about this was out of the ordinary.
no subject
"Homework?" Oh right, the thing she needed to turn in to make sure her grades stayed topnotch.
"No, it's okay. I'll get the assignments from the teachers. Still sick so...it's better if you don't stay." At least with Koizumi she was trying to be nice in putting more distance between them. It was a logical and believable excuse for him to not come in. Hopefully he would take the hint and just leave her be.
How difficult could that really be?
no subject
On the other hand, if she just wanted him to leave because she was hiding, distancing herself from everyone... then she needed to know there were people there for her. People willing to become close with her, to stay even when she tried to push them away.
...It was a hard balance to strike.
"I have a good immune system, I'm not worried about that. And I already picked up your copies of all the assignments from your teachers, since none of them knew why you weren't there or when you were going to be back." He didn't invite himself in, she could still turn him away - but to do so she'd either have to make him dig out all her homework here in the hall, or tell him to leave more directly. If she straight out told him to leave, he'd go - but he wasn't going to be driven off by hints and evasions.
no subject
She started to lean against the door frame with her arms loosely crossed over her chest.
"I can get the homework later," Rogue muttered, closing her eyes for a brief second. She needed to rest them, but when she did a sense of dread struck her heart. Sirius' memories were threatening to bubble to the surface. Her stomach became tangled up in knots. She opened her eyes suddenly as she fought the urge to hold her stomach and slide down the door frame to curl up on the floor.
"I...I'll be fine."
no subject
He made a decision then, deciding - while still trying to be delicate - to not beat around the bush. He spoke quietly, but powerfully, with conviction. "I don't know what's going on in your life. You certainly don't have to tell me. But... you don't have to be alone. Whatever it is, whatever's keeping you up - there are people that care about you, people that want to help. I want to help. However I can. I'm your friend.
Don't push everyone away, Rogue. Let someone in. It doesn't have to be me. You can push me away, if you want. I certainly won't force my company on you. If you want me to, I'll leave, for now. But it won't work, in the long term. If you want me out, really out, keep me distant - you'd have to tell me why. And I can't image what you'd say that could convince me to abandon a friend."
no subject
It was the same speech she's heard before. She couldn't be alone, but with how she was and she was feeling, she needed to be alone. She couldn't risk hurting anyone. Though if he knew...maybe he would leave. Most people did when they found out she was a mutant and what she could do. A lot of the kids in Bayville High did. Granted, she didn't hang around too many of them to begin with.
Him leaving or her pushing him away, it was normal.
"You shouldn't be friends with someone who could kill you..." she murmured, forcing back a yawn as she looked him in the eye.
"I'm a mutant, Koizumi. If I touch you, I gain your memories and your life force. I can kill you by touching you. I want you gone for that reason and that reason alone." She used all the strength and coldness she had left, going for the final push in the hopes that it would be enough to send him away. Once he was gone, she could close the door and fall asleep where she was.

Click. The carefully locked door will unlock itself.
of course, if there's a deadbolt or a chain secured, he'll still have a problem for the moment.

Or was she recalling the beginnings of a memory that wasn't hers?
Standing by the kitchen counter, she carefully picked up a knife and kept her back to the door. It was more as a procaution than anything else. If....if it turned out to be Remy, she would put it down and tell him sharply to get out. Already, without him stepping into the room, her heart was aching and beating loudly all at once. Memories of their 'life' they shared began to appear in her mind's eye. How he felt against her as they shared a hammock. The 'history' between them. It was all a lie. Move on from it.
no subject
"You hiding a knife, cherie, or you have a bouquet for Remy?"
no subject
"What do you want, Cajun?" What could she do to get him oeur of her place without asking any questions?
no subject
He keeps his tone as innocuous as he can. There are unspoken rules and he's already dancing through them. Don't mention what happened when they were pirates. Don't mention Sirius. Probably don't mention school. Later he could decide one and risk it, but he wasn't ready for the conversation to be over, so the other important questions had to wait.
no subject
"I'm fine."
no subject
And he could see from here how she was hurting, hiding. Afraid, the way she'd often been, her or another lady very like her in some ways. He couldn't tell her not to be. Her reasons were good. He just needed to persuade her to take the risk anyway.
"So fine that nobody's seen you for days?"
no subject
"I've been here and there. Don't see why it's any of your business."
