I can get you an application, and talk to the acting chief, if you like. There will be a few tests and criteria to go through with him before you can start - a survey of experience, a drug test, a psych eval, and a trial of your physical abilities. You are over eighteen, correct?

As long as you're over eighteen, there's no problem. I'll get you the forms to fill out tonight, and if you want to come in to the station tomorrow, we can start the process.

The paperwork, evals, and interview should just take a day or two, and the drug screen should take about another week to go through. Beyond that, there will be a three month period of training courses and on-the-job experience - give or take a week or two, depending on your abilities - and then you'll be a full officer.
