Ah...

[ The video turns on to a shy smile and a small nod. ] I'm Kaname Madoka. I don't know very many of you, but I hope that we get along well.

I've never been away from home for this long before. [ At least, this intended amount of time -- being "forever, or until you disappear." That's a little worrying, especially since things have gotten so dire at home. ] I don't…think that I can accept that my home is fictional. But I want to help everyone here as much as I can, even if I don't have many useful skills.

Also…if anyone has seen a girl named Akemi Homura, I'm looking for her. It's very important. I need to talk to her right away! So please, if you see her, will you let her know?

It's alright, love, you certainly don't seem fictional to me. How old are you?

[ O-oh. At first she's worried because, stranger danger. But she reminds herself that if she wants to find Homura, she has to be brave. ]

I don't feel fictional. If I was, then-- [ Then everything her friends sacrificed was a lie, and that would be terrible. She continues. ] I'm fourteen.

I know. It doesn't matter if people think my life's fictional, I still had to live it, am still living it. That's real enough for me.

Then you should have a guardian here on the island. I'm sorry, if I've met your friend before, I've not asked her name. I'm Sirius Black, by the way.

Mm. [ A nod! ] I believe my world is real. My friends are still there...I won't give up on them, even while I'm here.

I think they might, but at any rate, you'll be sure to find her. The island's not that big. And just call me Sirius, Mr. Black reminds me of school.

So she's here, too? [ And if she has friends...it's not as if their own friendship had caught on rapidly. ] Has she been here a long time?

Yeah! She's good for pizza. You should ask her for some. And I 'unno, longer than me.

I'm Molly! And I have tons of useful skills! Everyone does, even if you can't do this!! [She shoves her fist the whole way through the wall next to her. Her poor apartment :(]

Ehe...it sounds like Homura-chan has gotten a very nice friend. I'm glad.

[ Ahh-- ahhhh oh gosh what, she looks panicked D: ]

Your wall! Is your hand alright? Did you hurt yourself?

[There's a brief moment on the feed where video is being sent through, and Homura's face can be seen, smiling with tears running down her face, but almost immediately the stream switches over to audio, where only a slight shakiness in her voice can be detected. The hair ribbons in her hair are likewise only visible for a brief moment.]

K-Kaname Madoka.

I've been waiting here for you.

[ Ah-- she's here! She had been so worried -- after all, it seemed like she had been here a long time, if people could reference her as a good friend. But she's been waiting here... ]

Homura-chan...! [ A smile, a little embarrassed; Homura looks so happy, it would be bad to tarnish that with serious things right now. ] I'm sorry. I would've come sooner if I knew you were waiting. Are you all right?

I will be.

[Her voice is very quiet; it has to be, because inside she's bursting with feelings she has to keep down.]

What is your exact location?

I'm still outside of the hospital...I didn't want to go anywhere without looking for you first.

[ She notes that; she doesn't want to bring it up because she's worried it might be the wrong thing to ask. better to save it for the moment. ]

Should I stay here?

[The call cuts off suddenly, and just as suddenly Homura's there, standing not ten feet away, just a little to one side, hands clasped in front of her because it's the only way she can keep them from trembling.]

[ It throws her off a little bit to see her so suddenly, but she smiles. ]

Homura-chan...

[ Are hugs okay? Hugs are okay, she thinks; she walks over, but the walk turns into a run because it hasn't been that long for her from the time when she was sitting, worrying, over whether or not she was alright. So she throws her arms around her good friend and laughs a little bit, because she really was worried something had happened. ]

I was so worried!

[After a moment of standing stiff as a board, Homura returns the hug, gingerly, as if afraid Madoka will evaporate from out of her arms.]

I was worried about you as well.

[The words are even, measured, and they contain within them a multitude of unspoken subtleties, things she has no idea if Madoka will hear or not; things she has no idea whether or not she wants Madoka to hear.]

It's nice to meet you, Miss Kaname! I um... I like your hair ribbons. They're really nice. Did you just get here..?

Thank you...I brought them from home. I just got here a few minutes ago, so I still feel lost. What is your name?

Oh! I'm Vivi! I'm sorry that you're lost. I know that it can be kinda scary for people.. I'm still kinda scared.. This place is really different than the one I came from. But it's still really neat! And the people here are really nice!

Mm. [ An affirming noise. ] Everyone I've met so far has been very nice. I'm sure I'll learn how to get home soon. Until then I'll just have to be careful!

Ah, hello there, Kaname-san. I'm Koizumi Itsuki, it's a pleasure to meet you. [His smile is wide and cheerful, very welcoming.]

Don't worry, few of us believe our home worlds are fictional. It seems certain we are in a different reality, now - but there's no reason to believe our home universes aren't still out there, somewhere.

[He tilts his head briefly, considering.] I am fairly certain that Akemi-san is on the island, but I'm afraid I don't know her myself. That being said, she should be able to see this post, so she will likely respond soon herself. If I do see her, I'll tell her you are looking for her.

I know this is probably not where you wanted to be, but regardless - welcome to New Moore. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, or you need any help settling in.

I can't give up on my friends like that. I refuse to believe they weren't real. I'll prove it, if I have to.

Ah, perfectly reasonable. It's a lot to get used to. There should be an app on your phone that will serve nicely. If that doesn't work or you can't find it, I can send you a copy.

I've never had such a nice phone before. [ She laughs a little bit; it's silly, she had a technologically-savvy desk, computer, and home -- but this smartphone is giving her a little bit of trouble. Probably because its interface is quite different. ] I think I need to look carefully...everything is so new here. And everyone is so friendly. Thank you so much for your help.

anyway that was like a year ago and its been long safely returned and no one was hurt even if john and i nearly flew the thing into a wall a couple times

anyway the school systems more or less like the american system
your presence is expected from eight to three monday through friday
the years divided into semesters and you get report cards in december and june and you have to get your guardian or your roommate to sign them
i guess youd technically be a freshman since homuras been here like a year but maybe you can sneak in with us if your grades are good enough

please be careful!
it would be terrible if you got hurt because you flew a car into a wall

[ She considers this for a moment before she remembers that she's actually not....great in school. Or certainly not as smart as Homura, who could probably skip a grade with ease. ]
