You know, thneeds really are the most useful things! They can be as dense or loosely woven as you like, and if you're careful about it, apparently proof against dog bites. That was, um, less... exciting, really, but with so many officers being bitten, they couldn't exactly get me an escort to work. I'm all right! It just frightened me a bit. Something scared it off. I'm just glad it wasn't a werewolf.

How is everyone doing? Once-ler? Sirius? Anyone? Does anyone need a place to be contained for the evening? The police station has a few cells left... Night's coming on fast now.

They're not mindless... but we don't know if that could change.

But... wouldn't it be better for them not to be mindless? They can police themselves, to an extent. And if they stay helping the police, I suppose someone could keep an eye on them while everyone else could get to the more important work.

Of course it's better.
What I'm saying is we don't know how long it might last.
What if something changes? Is it really safe to have them helping us when we don't know what they might do?

Couldn't there be a sort of testing system? To see who would be the least likely to cause trouble? And they all get so sleepy during the day... maybe that would keep them docile enough. It just seems like we're losing a lot of help.

Then I don't think he needs to worry. He has a more than able champion on his side. Nothing could possibly get past both of you.

Weird? How do you mean? You're both friends - close friends - and the only person you have from home, here. It makes perfect sense that you'd want to look out for each other like that.

Well... I don't have much experience with zombies... (Is that an appropriate term? Would he be offended by it?) So, I mean, I think he's very nice, and I rather hope I can be his friend. And I don't know him from home! But if not all zombies are like R, and some of them are rather vicious, as it seems like you're implying, then... I could see why your father would be very concerned. It's really hard to look past your fears - I have rather a lot of them, so I understand, at least a little.

And then he's your father, too, and fathers are rather overprotective of their daughters, I'm told. It isn't as though you picked him out willy-nilly. And friends are so important.

We call them zombies, but I'm not so sure anymore that it's the right word for them. He's one of a kind, but he said there were others like him. That they were changing.

My dad.. It's complicated. He's less of a dad and more of a drill sergeant these days.
