Did you have any plans for tonight? I was thinking of cooking tonight for some of my friends who didn't have dates, if you're interested.

Well, I do have a date, actually - but I don't think she has anything too elaborate planned. She said it was all right, anyway.

In Japan, where I'm from, Valentine's Day is where girls give presents and chocolate and such to boys they like, and the boys return the favor one month later, on what we call White Day.

I think the rest of the world does it differently, but I suppose it's a hard custom to shake.

It's a new custom for me either way. Anna would like it. For the chocolates, at least.

Yes. We're both big fans of chocolates, but she expresses it a lot more than I do.

Ah, I see.

Well, if it helps, there will be something chocolate for dessert.
