It’s a bit odd how old I feel after we go to the parties on this island.

But maybe it’s just that everyone who goes seems to be much, much younger than me? Yeah, that probably has something to do with it. There are a lot of young people here, aren't there?

Only a few, I think. Not nearly as many as her. I used to really stupid stuff to impress, so she's got quite a lot.

To get the attention of a pretty girl, silly boys in love often do strange, and often embarrassing things. But I think it says a lot for a guy when he's willing to put his dignity on the line to make a girl smile.

Hey, a guy is perfectly willing to make an arse of himself for a girl's sake, but very rarely will you find a lady who is willing to do the same, much less marry him and have sex with him more than once. Especially if she's as strong-headed as the one you managed to snag.
