Well, well. It's been a while since anything truly disasterous has happened to our fair town. Might we have gotten a reprieve at last? One can only hope.

Thank you to everyone who sent Ianto well-wishes while he and New Brew were out of commission. It means a lot to the both of us. But things seem to be more or less back to normal around here, so let's enjoy the peace while we've got it.

So basically living here is a constant state of dime-sized - MANHOLE! At least that's nothing new.

Gotta say though. For all the doomsday warnings I've been getting I'm not seeing a whole lot to hate. This is the first kidnapping I've experienced that came with it's own Homecoming dance.

I just want to understand this place. I'm not looking to leave any time soon, even if it would be nice to be back somewhere more familiar. It isn't too bad, but it would be nice not to have to fear something strange and inexplicable happening on the island's whim.

Tim slid into a booth at the New Brew with his usual drink -- a Ristretto Caffe Medici with mocha instead of whipped cream -- and a faintly ridiculous pile of croissants and biscotti serving as a lunch substitute.

Wouldn't know. If there's one achievement in life that I am proud of it's that the charges have never stuck.

Hey I could probably get to like it here if they'd kidnap a few of my friends as well. Still. Island holiday? I mean cray-cray happens back home on an almost daily basis. I actually seem to be better off here.

Looking to be in fairly good spirits, Jack emerges from the Employees Only door and spots Tim in his booth, moving over to join him at his table.

As promised, Jack emerged from the secret entrance not long after his last comment to Ianto, looking either well-worked or like he'd spent a day at the water park, it was tough to discern which. He'd checked the monitors to ensure that they would be alone at least for a while before he emerged, and crossed over to greet his lover on the cheek with a kiss.

"You wanted to see me, boss?"

Ianto smiled at Jack, slipping his arm around the other man. His broken arm still wrapped up for good measure, but not in the heavy, frustrating cast it had been in before.

"Very funny." He slipped away and pushed the cup of coffee over toward Jack, leaning slightly on the counter. The store was open, but not many people knew about the reopening yet, so they had time before they were likely to be interrupted.

"Did you straighten out the watering problems?"

"I think so. It's nearly sorted, but I thought that I could do with a break." He smiled and accepted the coffee with thanks, sipping at the warm liquid and sighing contentedly. He leaned on the counter and smiled over at Ianto, happy to have things more or less back to normal.

"What did you want to talk to me about? I'm not in trouble, am I? I don't think the storefront is the proper place to adequately dole out punishment." Jack winked and grinned playfully.

Oh honey. Strange and me go way back. I got this place sorted. Besides, what's a little dressing up like a pirate between friends?!

Oh good. You should be right at home then. Also, the pirate thing was a couple months ago. Too bad you missed it. You'd have looked lovely in a Captain's coat.

Oh... I don't know. Little bits of everything, I guess. Whatever you want, really. I thought it would be a good place to study the plants, but also have a place for you when you come and visit. I know the building makes you uncomfortable.
