[Really, at first, Anita looks nothing short of irate, sitting in front of the camera with her arms crossed. She's already heard every possible explanation from the folks at the hospital, and while she's done her best to take it with a grain of salt, she's not pleased. It's difficult to wrap her head around, honestly, and that's saying something, considering what she does for a living and how often she spends her time ass-deep in myths and legends. All sorts of things that people once thought were fictional but were, in truth, real.
This is just a twist she had never expected.]
The funny thing is that this is only bordering on the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.
[She's certainly seen worse. Nobody is trying to chain her to a bed and slice her up, so, you know, that's a definite plus.]
I'm sure plenty of other people have shown up and started talking about how this just can't be true, so I'm going to skip that part for now and worry about finding out more about this place. I'll assume we're not looking at an island full of humans, given the circumstances. There's nothing wrong with that, but humor me. I'm curious. Are the police any good, or is it all Gangs of New York up in here?

It's not as dubious as it sounds, though. Some people abuse their power. I refuse to. I have too much respect for the dead.

It's an adjustment for a lot of people, just like the legalization of vampires has been. There are plenty of people who don't understand animators, but what we do isn't evil, though our being excommunicated from the church might make some people think so. There are definitely people who use their powers to do evil... but inherently, it's like anything else. All depends on the hands its in.
Unfortunately, if you wait too long, sometimes the dead can't speak for themselves anymore. If they've deteriorated too much, there's nothing we can do about that.

Sounds like where you come has it's fair share of turmoil. But, you know, I'm sure having those powers is just like having a badge. There's people who use it for good and there's people who... don't.
We don't have a lot of murders here, but they happen. That could be useful to the force when we're investigating.
[Video] Sorry it's so late! Went out of town and then got hit with the flu.
I'm of the mind that anyone with a badge should be using it to do good, but you're right about that. There are plenty of people who don't. Just like there are plenty of people who use their power over the dead to hurt people.
[There's one glaring example that sticks in her mind right now, as a matter of fact.]
I'll be glad to help however I can. They've always brought me in on the supernatural cases back home. I'm the resident "monster expert," you could say. I'm not sure how many of those we'll see around here, but hey, I like to play to my strengths.
[Video] no worries!! i hope you are feeling better!
I think you'll find your monster expertise might come in handy here. Where I come from, things like vampires don't exist. It's been... a little bit of an adjustment.
When do you start at the precinct? I'll show you around. And we just got a new coffee maker so... That's a perk.

From the sounds of it, pretty soon. I'm meeting the chief down there shortly, actually, so he can interview me in person.
[Coffee? Oh, now you're speaking her language.]
A perk if I've ever heard one. Cops without coffee are a pretty sad sight.

Gotta draw the line somewhere. The hours suck and the pay sucks, so at least there's something to look forward to.
Good luck with your interview.

Thanks. I don't forsee any problems, but who knows, the chief could surprise me. I'll see you at the station soon enough, I'm sure.
