[Really, at first, Anita looks nothing short of irate, sitting in front of the camera with her arms crossed. She's already heard every possible explanation from the folks at the hospital, and while she's done her best to take it with a grain of salt, she's not pleased. It's difficult to wrap her head around, honestly, and that's saying something, considering what she does for a living and how often she spends her time ass-deep in myths and legends. All sorts of things that people once thought were fictional but were, in truth, real.

This is just a twist she had never expected.]

The funny thing is that this is only bordering on the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.

[She's certainly seen worse. Nobody is trying to chain her to a bed and slice her up, so, you know, that's a definite plus.]

I'm sure plenty of other people have shown up and started talking about how this just can't be true, so I'm going to skip that part for now and worry about finding out more about this place. I'll assume we're not looking at an island full of humans, given the circumstances. There's nothing wrong with that, but humor me. I'm curious. Are the police any good, or is it all Gangs of New York up in here?

I've been on retainer with the Regional Preternatural Investigation Taskforce since it was founded. I've never had a badge, but I've done plenty of work for the police.

Oh, I've known plenty of both from all over the personality spectrum. This place seems alright so far, but I'm withholding judgment for the time being.

I try not to jump into anything without getting my land legs first. Tends to make things go more smoothly if I have a better picture of what's going on around me.

Actually, I've spoken to him. He seems alright -- I like to think of myself as a decent judge of character. I think I'll wait a bit before I decide which way my vote swings on that terrorist business.

Way I see it. You've been kidnapped so the whole law enforcement thing? Good is always going to be relative.

Executioner, if you don't mind -- though I know that the vampires probably don't see much of a difference. I only put them down when they've broken the law and it's been court-ordered.

[Mostly. Well, there was that time with Nikolaos. And Aubrey. And that whole mess in Branson. Those were all extenuating circumstances, though, right? She felt she deserved credit for that, at least.]

[Kate's all about extenuating circumstances, don't worry. She's got her fair share of red in her ledger, so to speak, and none of hers were court ordered. Just bad timing, on the criminal's part, anyway.]

It's... Probably not my place to say. I'm sure you two will meet soon enough. But she sounds like she's in the same league, some kind of... Vampire bounty hunter.

Dare I ask what the "animator" part means?
