[Really, at first, Anita looks nothing short of irate, sitting in front of the camera with her arms crossed. She's already heard every possible explanation from the folks at the hospital, and while she's done her best to take it with a grain of salt, she's not pleased. It's difficult to wrap her head around, honestly, and that's saying something, considering what she does for a living and how often she spends her time ass-deep in myths and legends. All sorts of things that people once thought were fictional but were, in truth, real.

This is just a twist she had never expected.]

The funny thing is that this is only bordering on the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.

[She's certainly seen worse. Nobody is trying to chain her to a bed and slice her up, so, you know, that's a definite plus.]

I'm sure plenty of other people have shown up and started talking about how this just can't be true, so I'm going to skip that part for now and worry about finding out more about this place. I'll assume we're not looking at an island full of humans, given the circumstances. There's nothing wrong with that, but humor me. I'm curious. Are the police any good, or is it all Gangs of New York up in here?

[Funnily enough, Rose hadn't really wanted to be a cop and yet, the spray of coffee? Well who said Kate really needed to know that.]

Oh yeah! I mean, I was explaining that with my background, getting a job would be hard and he told me how he used to be in some terrorist group and how like, the last Chief was a mass murderer or something...

[She's seeming s casual that it's almost hard to believe that she is being serious.]

But he said, ya know. Well you guys don't run background checks and when I mentioned the whole, being in prison thing, he didn't think that would really be a problem.

[And out of all of that, Kate only got one thing.]

[Rose pressed her lips together, bouncing her eyebrows as she waited for Kate to really process that one.]

I mean, I was framed, just for the record and all but. I wasn't sure how the police here would look at something like murder. Well. Treason. Well. Same diff.

You do realize I'm a cop, right? And that everyone says they were framed?

[Wow you are just getting all the side-eye icons today aren't you]

Yeah but... I really was framed. I mean if I'm gonna kill somebody I'm not going to be stupid enough to leave behind a weapon that can be tied back to me.

[Bless. She's so earnest. She fails to mention all the shit she did do but has never been arrested for.]

If I'm gonna kill somebody? I wouldn't get caught.

[And now she's bragging about getting away with murder. Metaphorical murder, but still.]

What? It's not like I'm planning to kill anyone or anything.

[Though just quietly, Rose rarely plans for anything to happen it just sort of does.]

Can we just... end this conversation before my headache gets any worse?

[She's starting to think she needs to be more picky about her friends.]

[And project; Distract Kate from her epic over-share with the newcomer by over-sharing about things that are even more shocking? Total success.]

Sure. [Smiling brightly.] And don't worry. No more outing the chief as a terrorist and no killing in the immediate future. I swear.

[Yep. She's ending the feed. Because it's safer.]

[And Kate will just be at her desk facepalming for the next ten minutes.]
