I—look, my boss told me to say it like that, but basically we have a lot of animals to take care of, and it's getting more difficult to do it by ourselves, so, if you ever have time and want to help out, we'd be super grateful. It's pretty fun. And it looks pretty good on paper?

Oh, poor things! Do you have enough supplies for them? I might be able to help there, and I could certainly come help out on the weekends, or sometimes after work in the evenings. Maybe you could reach out to the students when school lets out for the summer - some of them will want some volunteer work on their resumes and college applications, I would think.
