text.

Um... excuse me? I don't know why they gave me this. I don't even know what it is. Is it really mine to keep? I mean, would it be? I guess that's pretty nice of them, but I can't stay. I really can't. I have somewhere else I need to be, right now. Please, can someone help me? I need to go back. I'm not supposed to be here.

Someone could get hurt. It's really important. Please.

I don't even know where I'm going...

What... weapon do you use, um, if you don't mind me asking?

Keyblade... Ah, sorry... I don't think I've read about anything with that name. Or heard anything, for that matter. Do you wield it like a sword? Or is it something magical that shoots... things...? Goodness, I wish I'd paid more attention back when there were all the magical girls about.

Magical girls? Well, they're ordinary girls, but then they use a magical item or catch phrase, usually, sometimes both, and transform into a girl who can use special powers! There seem to be rather a lot of different ones - or at least there were - and with lots of different abilities. I'm told it's a whole genre of television in some worlds. Not in yours, I take it?

Oh! Well, I'm not sure if there are sword classes, but someone mentioned fencing at one point? And I think there are a few children at the school who use swords, though I wouldn't swear to that. You might ask your physical education teacher - who I think would be Ms. Danvers, actually - if she knows of any advanced classes in swordplay that you might try. Or I could ask her for you, if you like, the next time she stops by the police department.

Well then I think you count as a magical girl! It's rather a vague term, when you get down to the definition. Not everyone has powers, and if you do have them, I think that definitely makes you special.

Oh! It's not as dangerous here as in some worlds, and more dangerous than others I suppose. I don't know if they actively discourage learning about weapons, exactly, but it's so dangerous for children to be in big fights! I think the adults mainly want to try and keep the children safe.

Darkness corridors? I think you definitely qualify!

Oh, well, maybe you're not! Something about the way you talk, maybe... Never mind. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh wow! That's so neat! The only thing that I've heard even remotely similar to that would be the Doctor and his TARDIS, that allows him to travel through space and time, but it's rather different, I think. How fascinating! I'd love to hear more about that some time, if you'd be willing to tell stories about it.

If you're fourteen, then you're sort of between a child and an adult. They count you a full adult at age eighteen, and I think thirteen is when you become a "teenager" rather than a child, so things get a bit murky.
