BEACH PARTY BEACH PARTY
Who: ANYBODY
What: Beach party & beach volleyball
When: today
Where: the obvious place
What better way to end the school year than with a beach party? More like, what other way is there to start the summer in style? Bring your swimsuits and your towels, and be prepared to party all day and half the night too. There's a couple of nets for volleyball, and an ample provision of balls (just in case some get, you know, pummeled with superhero strength) for the tournament. Coolers full of soda and some full of beer, a couple of kegs- ok, more than a couple of kegs. Pizza delivery somewhere around 8, and an honest to god, straight up boar roast, Asgardian style.
Have fun guys!

Eventually though she adjusts her sunglasses and speaks while she does so. Such a posh British accent.]
If you intend to look, you might as well talk too, you know.

So he's staked out a spot just past the bonfire, propping his new longboard against the side of his cooler. Cool guys drive their boards nose first into the sand to show off its size, but cool guys wind up with wax and sand clinging to the leading edge of their board and fouling their control. Besides, a needle-nosed three-fin nine foot longboard, red with white racing stripes, pretty much does its own advertising, whether you plant it like a flag or not.
The dedicated surf rats in the class give him looks as they go by. Tim doesn't usually ride a longboard; he rides a triple-sing fish -- a short board, under six feet in length and ideal for spinning under your feet quickly as you slash up and down a wave (and thanks to the way water slows down just a little at the barrier, piling up liked water over an artificial reef, even on a slow day, New Moore gets awesome waves).
But you can't fit two on a fish, and he'd custom ordered this board six weeks ago, so he could ride it with Kate.
Watching the waves. Enjoying the party. Yep. This is fun.

You look impressed with yourself.

And why shouldn't I be?

[You don't mind her leaning over you like this, right?]

Comfortable enough like rich enough. There's always more, I think.

Whatevs, she is loving this shit. The beach is her thing, yo. And she does not have any doubts in her mind that she is the hottest person here. ]

So she preens herself a bit, meaning she whips around her good twelve to fifteen feet of hair and juts out her chest more than she already was. ]

Besides, she blew most of her stipend on a freaking swimsuit so might as well make use of it. ]

[After wandering around and not talking to anyone for a while, Eleven eventually decides to take the initiative and meet some people he may not have spoken to in class before.
He addresses her brightly and without a hint of self-consciousness.] Hi! What's your name?
no subject
My name is Maka.
no subject
[Eleven is too young and too not-actually-human to realize that coming up to say hello might be something that could bother people in the first place.]
Nice to meet you, Maka! People call me Eleven.
I don't think I have you in any of my classes. What grade are you in?
no subject
Dare you challenge the teenage Asgardian to beach volleyball.]

[Eleven wanders around the party for a bit, mostly not getting involved, but eventually he moves closer, smiling a bit shyly at Sif.
He greets her cheerfully enough, though he's swinging his arms back and forth in that way kids have when they're a little unsure of themselves.] Hi! You're miss Sif, right?
[There's a slight pause, then -] I thought you did a really good job at the game earlier!
OH MY GOD CR I DIDN'T KNOW I WANTED
Lady Sif. [Because the distinction is still important, even at her current age!] You have a good eye. But are you not a little young to be attending high school lacrosse?
[But she sounds more curious and puzzled than displeased. Compliments? Always welcome.]
Yes, this. I love baby!Eleven so much :)
Oh. I didn't mean to offend you, Lady Sif. [He immediately corrects his mistake, though he doesn't seem at all embarrassed or penitent about it.]
Why would that be? I wouldn't want to miss seeing my classmates play! [His tone is incredibly earnest and sincere.]
no subject
It probably wasn't, though.]
I thought you were- [She makes an awkward noncommittal gesture.] Younger. My apologies. And worry not. If I were offended, you would surely know. Do you play?
no subject
[Well, it's a good thing Eleven isn't a Midgardian, then. Wait, did I say good?] Well... I mean, I am younger than all our classmates, but I'm not a child or anything. I'm almost twelve! [His voice had veered from nearly petulant to nearly proud at that last statement...
Just to swerve to somewhere dark and in between sullen and excited at the mention of playing himself. He looks down at his feet, now uncertain and a little embarrassed.] I'd be good at it if I could play, but nobody ever wants me on their team.
[This is obviously upsetting to Eleven, both because he really would be good at it - his tackles may not be the best (though they'd likely surprise everyone), but he'd more than make up for it with speed and reflexes - and because he tries so very hard to be a normal high schooler like everyone else, and maybe make a few friends here and there.]

He probably wasn't technically supposed to be at the party, but his dad hadn't express forbid it. Besides, he had said he was going out to see Clara - and he had. He just hadn't gone back home when he was done with that.
He was just a little wide eyed at all the older kids and their drinks and posturing and whatever weird mating rituals they were doing. He'd read about those in Biology, but they'd never made any sort of practical sense to him.
Mostly, though, he was excited to be sneaking about this late and acting like an adult!
