The original Organization XIII was made with one purpose in mind: to create vessels for Xehanort to put fragments of his heart in. Since Nobodies don't have hearts but call to them, they're the perfect vessels for that. Unfortunately, hearts or not, most of us grew too independent and the process didn't stick. [read: most] That's probably also why his Heartless wanted to take over Riku so bad. [he pauses again because DRAMATIC PAUSES and also now he has to explain the new Organization XIII, why he even needed thirteen copies of himself, etc and god why is this shit so needlessly complicated]

And out of six of them, four were just Xehanort at different points in time. His heartless, Xemnas, him as a kid, and ... some old guy that was supposed to be his main body, I guess. He tried to make Sora into the thirteenth, but we took care of that.

Okay, I gotta admit, I wasn't around for the part where he explained how he did it, but that's not important. [well ok it kind of is but] Xehanort is planning a clash with his thirteen darkness and seven lights, which means either we pick seven Keyblade wielders on our side or he picks off the Princesses. Soo, conclusion: there's a war about to happen.
